This weekly six-part series taught by certified childbirth instructors, will help you gain confidence as you prepare for the birth your baby. The program provides information on nutrition, birth preparation exercises, common discomforts experienced during pregnancy, the birth process, relaxation, breathing and other comfort techniques. Medical procedures and C-Sections are also covered. The series concludes with our Baby Basics class. It’s also a great opportunity to meet other expectant parents!
A one-day program designed to help you prepare for the birth of your child. Topics include the birth process and comfort techniques for labor. You will also have an opportunity to tour Burdett Care Center.
A free, six-week childbirth education series, designed to meet the needs of the younger expectant population. Taught by a certified childbirth educator and a certified social worker, participants are prepared for the childbirth process, breastfeeding and infant care.
Help prepare your children for the arrival of a new sibling with this class designed for the three-year-old and up set. Expectant siblings view a video, interact with a life-sized infant doll and tour the childbirth center. The program concludes with a "birthday party" for the expected new baby. Participants receive a graduation certificate and gifts.
Learn the ABC’s of newborn care, including newborn characteristics, bathing, diapering, immunizations and safety.
Taught by a certified lactation consultant, this class offers information on the benefits of breastfeeding and the basics of getting started with nursing.
Breastfeeding instruction and lactation support to nursing mothers and families before, during and after the birth of a baby.
Certified infant massage instructors will teach you how to use the specialized techniques of infant massage to calm and comfort your baby.
